Lovers of botanical decorations, this oval dish is for you! Here, the wild thistle flourishes in the company of butterflies drawn with an almost scientific delicacy. The whole, printed in blue/black on ivory earthenware patinated by time, evokes the naturalist plates of yesteryear. Probably from a large french manufacturer of the late 19th century – creil, choisy or sarreguemines – this unstamped dish has all the makings of a collector's item. Its charm also lies in its small imperfections: a visible old crack (see photos) but stable, and a very pretty patina that tells of its long life. Place it as a centerpiece, hang it as a wall decoration or use it as a poetic serving tray. Dimensions: 34 cm long, 22.5 cm wide condition: visible crack, patina of time but still very shiny. Rare, very graphic decoration, in a japanese-naturalist style.
