Set of 4 cannes chairs Thonet No.15 around 1895 finish "medium oak"

A batch of 4 Bistrot chairs, circa 1890, of the No. 15 model by Thonet, which has been proven in the catalogues since 1875/80, it is the simplified and uncluttered version of the No.11, silhouette all rounded. This batch, without reinforcement is extremely sober and approaches the simplicity of the No. 14. All the cannages of the seats are recent, the cabinetry is perfect. They are ready for service - Stamp under each chair, snippets of labels. Height 91 cm - Seat diameter 42 cm - Seat height 47 cm. Thonet at the end of the 19th century could deliver its furniture in different shades and/or preparations called "way" Although the wooden-curved furniture is always made of solid beech, a special "oak-style" finish for example could be ordered. This is the case of this lot which remained in the finish No.11 (see extract from the nuance of the catalogue of 1899 attached).
