Rosewood armchair from a gplan production from the early 70s. It is a rare product because its availability was limited from 1971 to about 1976. The armchair named housemaster of exceptional comfort is in a condition approaching new. It swivels and rolls perfectly and without play. Although extremely comfortable, the original foam cushions and upholstery no longer complied with the uk fire regulations 1988. They were at the time rather big, heavy and spoiled its appearance. The new cushions are more thin and less inflated than those before. Its appearance remains magnificent, especially when viewed from behind where rosewood blades are apparent. We can compare the seat to a marsala or togo armchair, see eames loungechair. The frame and chrome trim are in very good condition. The structure is supported by a chromed metal blade that allows a rocking movement. This part is securely connected to the star-shaped base by a sturdy axis tightened by a large bolt. 4 original removable metal wheels engraved "made in england" are threaded on the base. Armrest width 88cm, backrest height 80 cm seat height about 20 cm, depth about 85 cm.
