Magnificent bottle vase (or large soliflore) in traditional glazed earthenware from the famous artisan city of Talavera de la Reina in Spain. This vintage piece, dating from the mid-20th century, is entirely hand-painted. It features the iconic and highly sought-after motif of a stylized bird with outstretched wings on its bulging body. The elongated neck is adorned with geometric and floral patterns in vibrant and typical colors: cobalt blue, ochre, saffron yellow, and copper green on a glossy white background. The object is handwritten signed "Talavera" under its base, accompanied by the workshop's monogram. As a reminder, the craftsmanship of Talavera ceramics is inscribed in UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. A very beautiful character piece, ideal for bohemian, ethnic decoration or to complement a collection of majolica and Mediterranean earthenware. Rustic / Bohemian / Mediterranean style. Mid-20th century (1950s - 1970s). Very good condition.
