This old oak table was found in the post office of a village where it was to be used as a desk. It was stripped by airblasting. The base is painted black with natural, washable linseed oil paint. The top is left raw protected by a varnish. It bears the traces of its experience: lighter areas and other darker ones that resist the airbrush and the sander. Which, ultimately, gives it its cachet and authenticity.
