Large Louis-Philippe mercury mirror, antique mirror decoration.

Antique, large and authentic louis-philippe style mercury mirror - wooden frame and painted plaster with the original patina - on the back: original pointed wood - original hook and hanging string - 1850s - 1920s. This antique mirror has the typical stains of a mercury mirror. These are mirrors whose manufacture with mercury has been prohibited since 1835 and therefore difficult to find nowadays. Overall dimensions: height: 71 cm - width: 56.5 cm - thickness approximately 3 cm - mirror 56.8 X 42.2 cm - weight: 6.3 kg. Good vintage condition considering its age but note: - some traces of time on the patinated gilding and small cracks on the stucco. - the 2 bottom corners of the mirror damaged by use and time have been repaired and well consolidated (see photographs). - the back of the mirror has been dusted and cleaned with a renovating product (wooden boards removed and replaced with new nails). - a colorless satin protective varnish has been applied to the stucco by me. This old mirror can also be placed directly on the floor: there are 2 small protective wooden squares (one moves).
