Robert DEBIEVE "Pinède" 1976. Aubusson tapestry woven by the Jean Laurent workshop. 100% wool. 120 X 170 cm. (A mistake on the identification ribbon mentions it as 117 cm) Signed at the bottom right and on the identification ribbon on the reverse, no. 103/500. Robert Debiève was a renowned French artist, best known for his creative tapestries and painted artworks. A designer for SNCF train cars and the salons of large ocean liners, he also worked extensively for the Aubusson workshops and contemporary tapestry. The tapestry can be viewed at the Tsé & Tsé shop, 7 rue Saint Roch, 75001 Paris, open from Tuesday to Saturday: 11am-2pm / 2: 30pm-7pm.
