Mid-century side table by Max Kment, maple, cord, Austria, 1950s

A highly recommended modernist organic Austrian table inspired by Japan. An elegant piece, suitable for use as a side table, coffee table, end table, or occasional table. It can also be used as a bench or a support for flowers. Designed in 1955 by Austrian architect Max Kment, manufactured by his Kunstgewerbliche Werkstatte in Vienna. Made of maple wood, with four tapered conical legs. Partially wrapped in braided cord, the table features a clear glass top with rounded corners. In good condition with signs of age-related wear.
