Hammam bucket kadjar nineteenth, tinned copper, finely chiseled hunting scenes, persia (iran) The finesse and quality of the carvings show the dexterity of the engraver of this nineteenth century piece. Hammam bucket of the nineteenth century, kadjar dynasty, tinned copper engraved with a very great delicacy of hunting scenes. The set is composed of bands of friezes of flowers. The bronze handle takes a dominic shape when it is raised. The work of very good quality, purity of forms, finesse of engraving, undoubtedly belonged to a person of high rank. A small mark on the handle, like a workshop stamp. In very good condition collection, nineteenth century, persia, (iran) kadjar period. These basins are used to spray the body with water. The hammam, called moorish bath and turkish bath by westerners, is a wet steam bath with its origins in the roman baths. In its current form, the hammam developed in the ottoman empire, from north africa to the middle east thanks to the expansion of islam.
