Original lithograph Nice and Savoie

Original lithograph from a book, commissioned in 1860, which presents the newly french departments. "picturesque sites, monuments, description and history of the departments of savoie, haute-savoie and the alpes maritimes united at the france in 1860." it is a work of lithographs made from drawings by félix benoist, which appeared in 1864. The losses of the rhône were gorges located on the course of the rhône, near bellegarde-sur-valserine, just upstream of the confluence of the rhône and the valserine. They were submerged in 1948 by the reservoir of the genissiat dam. Good general condition, some reddening visible in the photos. Frame made by a framer.
