Pair of GFM-64 armchairs, designed by Edmund Homa

Armchairs designed by one of Poland's greatest post-war designers, Professor Edmund Homa. Produced from 1965 at the Gościcino Furniture Factory. The GFM-64 low-back armchair was part of a set that also included a high-back armchair, a headrest, and a footstool. The set received a silver medal at the "Autumn 1965" National Fair and became one of the PRL's most popular export products during that era. The low-back armchair, being more versatile (smaller) than its high-back counterpart, was more often intended for the domestic market and was a symbol of luxury and good taste at the time. This pair of armchairs has been fully restored, with the beechwood frame cleaned, stained, and varnished. The foam and upholstery have been replaced and reupholstered in a high-quality, modern fabric.
