MR. chair & ottoman lounge chair by George Mulhauser by Plycraft

Beautiful large American walnut plywood lounge chair and accompanying footstool by American designer George Mulhauser in completely original condition. Mulhauser designed this "Mr. Chair in 1959 and is a true American design icon. The chair was made at American company 'Plycraft'. This company initially made boats in the early 1950s, hence the name 'Plycraft'. Plycraft had great expertise in the field of plywood, this can be clearly seen in the beautiful large seat that consists of a large curved plate of plywood. It is therefore not surprising that Herman Miller's outsourced the production to Plycraft of the famous and very shortly made 'Pretzel Chair' by George Miller. This Vintage chair can turn and still has the completely original upholstered upholstery in black-cream colored mixed fabric in nice condition. Included is the original pillow.
