Mid-century scheurich (west germany) ceramic lamp with dual lighting globes. The large open spheres on the neck and the satin (not glossy) earthen brown glaze give it the ultimate mid-century look. A large floor or table lamp, it is 50 cm tall X 32 cm in diameter (excluding the top globe socket). It has a top globe, and one inside the base, giving light through the round holes. Both globes operate from the single electrical cord, which is long and has an on/off button. This model of scheurich lamp is often found with an orange glaze stripe around the base and glossy glaze. This is a more rare model in brown only, with an earthen, semi-matt smooth glaze which can work well with any design colour scheme. The lamp and both globe ports function normally- the electrical parts are all original. The plug is eu standard and the sockets take older, 2-prong lightglobes. The lamp pairs well with a tall, conical lampshade of the era (no lampshade included). The ceramic base is incredibly free of any chips or cracks. The cord, plug and button have some ageing (a few marks, some light discoloration) yet they still look generally good with a vintage appearance. A visually magnificent, original mid-century lamp in working condition, free of chips or cracks. It weighs over 6 kilos. Hand delivery is available to prevent potential damage during shipping. If shipped, careful attention will be made to packaging, particularly the important spheres on the neck.
