Elegant deep brown enameled porcelain carafe, produced around 1900 by the C.P. & Cie – Mehun-sur-Yèvre factory, a direct ancestor of the Pillivuyt house, founded in 1854 by Charles Pillivuyt. Its bold, sculptural form—a spherical body topped with a high, beveled neck—embodies the quest for balance and purity so dear to French ceramics of the Belle Époque. The glazed brown glaze, with its golden highlights, captures the light and highlights the sensuality of the material, while the glossy white interior reveals the technical mastery of the fire. Stamped on the reverse: Porcelaines & Feu – C.P. & Cie – Mehun, a signature used before the adoption of the Pillivuyt name, and still synonymous with porcelain excellence today. Beautiful vintage condition, glossy surface, no chips or cracks. Height: approx. 20 cm – diameter: 12 cm.
