Large oval dish - pottery from Les Rochers

Large antique Art Deco oval platter – Faïencerie des Rochers (34 cm) For sale is a magnificent large oval serving platter made of antique earthenware from "Faïencerie des Rochers" (Blangy-sur-Bresle), dating from the Art Deco period (1920s-1930s). It features a superb geometric blue checkerboard frieze, very graphic, reminiscent of the famous "Lustucru" style or vintage bistro crockery. Characteristics: • Shape: Oval. • Length: 34 cm. • Colours: White and blue. • Clearly visible stamp on the back: "Faïencerie des Rochers" with its crowned lion crest. Condition: generally good for its age. The earthenware is nicely white and the glaze remains shiny. Note a slight patina of time on the left edge (small authentic usage marks that add to the charm of the antique, see photo). Ideal for a lovely country table, retro/antique decoration, or to complement a bistro service.
