Saarinen coffee table in arabescato marble. Iconic knoll model. Immaculate condition. This table dating from 1956 is one of the most famous projects of eero saarinen, a true classic of the twentieth century. The beautiful oval top in "arabescato" marble (white veined gray) is supported by a central base in machine-polished cast aluminum and protected by a white rilsan coating. The marble is covered with a glossy transparent polyester varnish protecting it from stains. Thanks to its beveled edge, the top of the saarinen table looks light regardless of its dimensions. Always published by knoll international, each original piece bears eero saarinen's signature below the stage. Hans knoll and florence schust, the founders of knoll in 1946, were close to saarinen, like him they wanted to combine elegance with lightness and minimal size.
