3129 – soliflore vase named “berluze or galinette” – marmoreal glass – signed (illegible) large soliflore vase named berluze or galinette in marmoreal glass in speckled mauve tones signed in enamel but illegible on the body in good condition. Presence of air bubbles trapped during blowing. No cracks or chips. Quite in the style of “lorrain” by the prestigious daum house or by master glassmaker andré delatte (1887-1953). Height 448mm X 143mm. Weight 1000 g. Careful and tracked shipping for information, this type of production bearing the “lorrain” signature was created in 1925 by maison daum & cie at the verrerie de belle étoile in croismare (near lunéville) and not in nancy and produced until 1934. Paul daum was the director. That by andré delatte, was produced at his factory “les verreries de l’est” and called “galinette” in homage to émile gallé (1846-1904). The latter accused by maison daum of copying it, the court considered that given that these types of vases had existed since antiquity and present in numerous museums, it could not be a copy of daum productions.
