Rare Norwegian mid-century teak sideboard — Arnt Sørheim. This beautiful teak sideboard is a rare masterpiece from the heyday of Scandinavian design. Designed in the 1960s by Arnt Sørheim for the Norwegian factory Brødrene Sørheim Møbelfabrikk AS, this piece brings pure design history into your home. Because this factory produced on a much smaller scale than the well-known Danish manufacturers, this model is now a rare and valuable design classic. The design breathes the beloved mid-century modern style. The row of five central drawers immediately stands out due to the flowing, inlaid bowl handles known from the iconic Arne Vodder style, giving the cabinet a beautiful sculptural character. The craftsmanship is visible in the solid teak frame with elegantly rounded corners and the continuous, flaming wood grain. Thanks to the slender base with tapered legs, the sideboard maintains an airy, floating look in the room. The piece has been recently restored: thoroughly cleaned and nourished, stains removed by sanding, and the whole relacquered while fully retaining its authentic character and warm, fitting patina. The cabinet has also undergone a nearly invisible modification: the problematic mechanical locks of the doors have been professionally converted to a modern magnetic system, as the original lock parts are no longer available. The original keys are now fixed and serve as permanent handles. The sleek appearance remains exactly as the designer intended. A unique top piece, ready for a stylish new interior.
