Ercol Goldsmith Chair & Armchair Set 1960 — Attributed to Ercol Goldsmith (Lucian Ercolani Style) An elegant duo consisting of a chair and its matching armchair (carver) with a high curved back and spindles, dating from the 1960s. An airy and warm line, emblematic of Mid-Century British design. The design is directly inspired by the famous Goldsmith Chair (no. 369) by Lucian Ercolani for Ercol. Under the seat, there are 4 original perforations intended for optional cushion buttons at the time (a typical feature of Ercol pieces). It also evokes the Scandinavian creations of Ilmari Tapiovaara (Fanett) or Yngve Ekström. Originally dark-stained solid wood. High enveloping backrest, tapered legs. The armchair features stunning armrests. Perfect as a side table duo, office chair, or reading corner armchair. In very good vintage condition. Solid and perfectly stable.
