Vintage botanical illustration of Barkeria Spectabilis orchid.

This refined botanical print features the Barkeria Spectabilis, an elegant orchid native to the mountainous regions of Mexico and Central America. The illustration depicts the plant as found in nature: gracefully descending aerial roots, slender stems, light green leaves, and a rich bouquet of soft pink flowers with finely spotted lips in shades of cream, raspberry, and dark pink. The symbolism of the orchid makes this poster particularly special. In many cultures, the orchid is synonymous with love, refinement, beauty, and rarity. The Barkeria Spectabilis is also seen as a symbol of resilience: it often grows high in trees, suspended freely in the air, drawing strength from exactly what it needs. A beautiful metaphor for growth, elegance, and independence — ideal for an interior where nature, balance, and refinement meet. The illustration is printed exclusively for Bij de Tijd on luxurious light ivory laid paper of 220G. This classic speckled paper features a subtle line structure, enhancing the soft colours, fine veins, and delicate details of the flowers. A high-quality art print that perfectly suits both minimalist interiors and warm vintage atmospheres. A timeless botanical poster that brings calm, softness, and elegance to your space.
