Fir sideboard, 1920s

Antique sideboard / dresser dating from the 1920s, crafted from fir wood. Both understated and elegant, it is entirely handcrafted. We love its pretty curved details, the harmony of which can be seen in the legs as well as in the rounded glass doors and lower door frames. Formerly visited by woodworms, it has various exposed galleries; it has been fully treated against pests. Stripped, sanded, and covered in a satin Tuscan yellow color from Ripolin, it is finally protected by a double layer of colorless matte varnish. The windows are original, held in place by upholstery nails. The ironwork has been replaced with a more high-end set than the original. The back, like all the interior parts, has not received any treatment, giving off a pleasant natural fir scent. The piece of furniture is in two separate parts, the upper element simply resting on the top of the lower one. The same key opens and closes the locks on the upper and lower doors. Small latches are present to hold the left doors. For us it is a favorite, we hope you will like it just as much!
