Tri-lobed compartmentalised aperitif plate by Verceram from the 1950s.

Here is a rare piece, a very beautiful glazed ceramic plate in a lovely burgundy red colour with an elegant and very original shape. The shape evokes a trilobate plant, perhaps an aquatic plant, as flora and the sea were sources of inspiration in the 1940s to 1955 for the Verceram ceramics factory. It is indeed stamped underneath Verceram France with the model number 4600, which leads me to believe it dates from the 1950s. The three voids in the centre, aside from their aesthetic interest in lightening the shape and making it more fluid and lively, are also very practical as they allow for easy handling of the plate. It is also worth noting that the glazing on the reliefs (ridges and edges of the lobes) is slightly lighter (thinner?), again for aesthetic purposes: to resemble what nature offers, to give life to this ceramic, and it is very successful. It will be perfect for presenting canapés at an aperitif, three different sauces during a meal, or simply as an original catch-all that will attract all eyes. It is in perfect condition, with no defects to report, not even a chip! It measures 31.5 cm in maximum width and 4.5 cm in height.
