Organic tripod coffee table – European modernism, 1950s–60s

Superb coffee table with an organic and asymmetrical shape, emblematic of European modernism from the 1950s to 1960s. A free and fluid design, directly inspired by research into natural forms and post-war domestic furniture. The top, made of solid wood or thick veneer, features a generously rounded edge, beautifully patinated by time. Its silhouette evokes the French and Scandinavian productions of the era, where visual comfort and the softness of lines took precedence over geometric rigor. The tripod base in black lacquered metal, slender and slightly inclined, adds a subtle graphic tension and ensures excellent stability while keeping the top visually light. An unassigned piece, but with a great accuracy of proportions, ideal in a contemporary, modernist, or eclectic interior, either alone or paired with a low sofa.
