Known as saks model it is a great example volther’s fantastic talent as a furniture architect – beautiful in form yet comfortable and functional. This set of 4 pieces was gently restored – oak bases were cleaned and finished with oil, while the seatings were reupholstered in high quality fabric from nya nordiska brand (composition: 30% cotton 25% wool 20% acrylic 15% polyester 10% silk). Poul m. Volther (1923-2001) belongs to a generation of popular danish architects who have deep roots in good craftsmanship. Poul m. Volther’s style was based on scandinavian functionalism, which with a modern twist found a middle ground between the bauhaus style and the classical, practical work.
