Yellow flowers, blue hydrangeas, and irises rise from a brown earthenware vase placed on a ledge. The texture is thick and worked in impasto on the flowers, more fluid on the brown and green background. The contrast of yellow and blue brightens the whole. The painting naturally finds its place in a kitchen, an entrance, or above a sideboard. Unsigned canvas, presented without a frame. A few small, occasional paint losses, worn edges of the canvas, and slight sagging of the canvas on its stretcher.
