Modular side table and magazine rack by Pilastro: This side table is an iconic piece of Dutch design from the 1950s and 60s produced by the renowned manufacturer Pilastro. This model is a creation of Tjerk Reijenga, the iconic designer of Pilastro, known for his minimalist structures made of perforated metal. This model stands out for its ingenious design: the top tray and magazine rack are removable. Inspired by the modernist movement, Pilastro made its mark during the mid-century with its distinctive square perforated metal. This piece is a perfect example of their craftsmanship, combining a minimalist structure in black wire with modular elements in white lacquer. The ability to remove the components demonstrates the visionary approach of the time towards adaptable furniture. Its lightweight structure also makes it easy to move around your interior. This piece is preserved in its original condition. The structure is robust and perfectly stable. The top tray has a few small areas of missing white paint: these are authentic signs of use confirming its age and history. These slight patina marks are common on the lacquered metal of this period and do not detract from the sculptural aesthetic of the object. They are indicated in the photos with a 2 euro coin (size reference). There are also a few small areas without paint, all visible in the photos. The four original plastic protective caps are all present at the bottom of the legs. Origin: Netherlands. Period: 1950-1960. Materials: White and black lacquered steel. Feature: Removable elements. Height: 44.5 cm. Width: 38 cm. Depth: 26 cm. Weight: 2.1 kg. An ideal investment for collectors of European design looking for a piece that is both functional and historical.
