LC8 stool by Charlotte Perriand and Le Corbusier for Cassina, 1970-80

Lc8 swivel stool designed by charlotte perriand in 1927. Produced by cassina in the late 1970s or early 1980s, serial number 09892. Lc series furniture had been attributed to le corbusier, but today charlotte perriand is recognized as the designer. So only the name of le corbusier is engraved under this vintage lc8. Perriand originally designed this stool for his own apartment on place saint-sulpice in paris in the 1920s. It was presented at the 1927 salon d'automne to a wider audience, it was part of the "bar sous le toit" project...chromed steel tube structure. Swivel seat covered in original black leather. Wear consistent with age and use. Small signs of wear as pictured. Seat height 49cm.
