Vietnamese tiger tapestry, circa 1890

Large asian tapestry in embroidered silk. The embroidery depicts a hunting scene in the middle of nature: a tiger is chasing a deer in the middle of groves of trees and bamboos. In the background, we find farmers in a rice field, one of the farmers uses an ox to pull a plow. The tapestry is decorated with a floral frieze. Indochina française (present-day vietnam), circa 1890. In good general condition for his age, slight defects visible in photos. The tapestry will be shipped without its frame.
