Art Nouveau vide-poche by Charles Gréber, Beauvais: a waterfowl dips its beak into a basin, with mottled brown, mauve, and green matte enamels. Signed. The underside bears the incised signature "C. Greber" in cursive, accompanied by partially erased black-painted inscriptions, likely workshop marks. A similar model is reproduced by Jean Cartier in L’Art céramique des Gréber, 1868-1974 (Somogy, p. 147). The basin can hold rings, keys, or paperclips; on a console or desk, the piece is first viewed as a small sculpture. It is in very good condition.
