A superb antique tureen or vegetable dish in white ironstone, decorated with delicate blue floral motifs applied by transfer and highlighted with fine rocaille reliefs on the handles, body, and lid. This piece was made by the renowned Creil & Montereau factory between 1880 and 1900, and subsequently distributed by the prestigious Grand Dépôt E. Bourgeois, located at 21 rue Drouot in Paris and 33 rue Saint-Ferréol in Marseille. The openwork handle with its pronounced rocaille decoration is typical of their designs from 1880 to 1900, and the modeling of the reliefs on the body and lid also corresponds to their serving molds known as "Louis XV" or "rocaille." With its generous shape, finely molded details, and charming age-related crackling, this tureen embodies the elegance of late 19th-century tableware. Stamped E. Bourgeois + impressed markings EB H within a frame and N (see photos). Length 26 cm for the container, 32 cm including handles, height 16 cm, width 19 cm. Very good condition, beautiful patina, age-related cracks, no chips or cracks. Perfect as a decorative piece in a chic vintage-style kitchen, to complement a collection of dishes, or of course for serving soups or vegetables.
