Set of rare Model 209 chairs by Ligna Thonet, 1940s

A very special set of two model 209 chairs by Ligna Thonet from the 1940s. A fantastic design featuring a wooden frame upholstered in burgundy faux leather. The leather on both seats is loose, and the set could easily be reupholstered. However, the signs of wear also add character. The design dates from the early 1930s. This set itself appears to have been produced in the 1940s. Marked with a paper Thonet label and a Ligna stamp under the seat. A truly unique piece that needs some attention!
