Here is a rare stoneware tray, signed by the famous potter Joseph Talbot, an emblematic figure of La Borne in the Cher region. This large, very flat tray (25 cm in diameter) is distinguished by its deep blue glaze with brown and gray highlights, the result of exceptional craftsmanship with a very flat format reminiscent of the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. Ideal for a diversified use: presentation tray, elegant tray, minimalist decorative support or exhibition tray for precious objects. This unique piece perfectly embodies the sober and refined aesthetic of French art ceramics from the interwar period. Stamped Joseph Talbot in La Borne (Cher): Joseph Talbot (1888–1959) was a renowned craftsman from La Borne, in the Cher department, active between the 1920s and 1959. Archives attest that he signed his pieces "Joseph Talbot - In La Borne - Cher". This tray expresses all the strength of La Borne pottery: a sober, almost minimal shape, and a deep glaze with blue, brown, and gray shades, rich in reflections depending on the light. The result of ancestral know-how, between mastery of fire and aesthetic research. Diameter 25 cm - height 2.5 cm. Very good condition - no chips or cracks. A rare piece full of character, perfect for enhancing your interior with a touch of history and authenticity that will find its perfect place in a contemporary, rustic, or wabi-sabi interior.
