Antique wooden wall shelf with a turned gallery and 5 hooks L120 H40 D18

Antique wall shelf in stained brown wood, probably from the late 19th or early 20th century. Long and narrow structure composed of an upper shelf, two cut side panels, and an openwork gallery with small turned balusters. The lower part features a bar equipped with five metal hooks with openwork plates and movable rings. The mouldings, the cut profile of the supports, and the turned gallery belong to the vocabulary of small domestic furniture from this period, serving both a utilitarian and decorative function. This type of wall shelf was typically found in an entrance, kitchen, or service room to store small items (pans) and hang clothes, towels, or accessories. Its brown wood, elongated proportions, and the rhythm of the balusters work well today in an entrance or kitchen, alongside raw wood, fibre baskets, natural linen, or more contemporary furniture. Dimensions: length 120 cm; height 40 cm; depth 18 cm. Weight: 5.5 kg. Generally good antique condition, with signs of use, small marks, and colour variations related to age.
