Antique Asian wardrobe in solid wood – Indonesia / Java

I am selling this very beautiful antique Asian wardrobe made of solid wood, personally acquired from an antique dealer in Jakarta (Indonesia) in 1981. A particularly original piece due to its design and the richness of its details. The front features: • 2 doors with moulded panels. • magnificent circular openwork decorations sculpted, representing a bird above a lotus. • 3 drawers in the central part. • a lower section largely openwork with a wooden lattice work. • sculpted and openwork decoration at the feet. • four tall legs. • interior with several shelves. The piece is made of solid wood, with a beautiful natural patina and very lovely colour variations. Dimensions: Height: 176 cm. Width: 92 cm. Depth: 40 cm. Origin: 🇮🇩 Indonesia – Jakarta. Purchased from an antique dealer in Jakarta in 1981 and kept since. The style and decorative elements clearly evoke traditional Indonesian/Asian furniture, with a strong Javanese influence. The bird and the lotus are particularly prevalent motifs in the decorative arts of Southeast Asia. I prefer to let the buyer appreciate the exact age of the piece themselves rather than announce a dating that I cannot guarantee. Condition: Good overall condition considering its age and use.
