Round cut on foot, circled with golden brass. Work of the 1970s. Rare and elegant decorative object. The trend for malachite has its roots in the early nineteenth century, when furniture or art objects are dug directly into the malachite or adorned with the pretty green stone. In fact, the history of malachite goes back much further, to the ancient greeks who used it in powder as eye shadow or stone to adorn their jewelry. In the nineteenth century, tsar alexander offered napoleon I malachite objects that can still be admired at the grand trianon of versailles. The winter palace of st. Petersburg is known for its rooms with malachite columns. Small objects made of malachite become real collector's items, due to the rarity of this stone with veins ranging from green to black. Rare decorative object, collectible, in perfect condition. To report: a tiny hole in the malachite, see last photo. 23 X 5 cm. Clean, fast and neat shipping or hand delivery to paris / reims / laon.
