Oil on cardboard of a twentieth century man

Beautiful french portrait of an old man smoking a pipe, dating from the mid-twentieth century, around 1940 / 1950. It is an oil on cardboard, unsigned. The model is very nicely painted! The frame is made of white wood (dirt), the outline is painted gold. The beauty and quality of the portrait would perhaps require another frame that would highlight it more.
