Arlus President model desk or table lamp

This large, modernist-style desk lamp was produced by the French company Arlus in 1958. As seen in the vintage advertisement pictured, it belongs to the very limited "Sicob" series, named after the Parisian salon of the same name, established in 1950. Its clean and particularly elegant design evokes Danish creations and has stood the test of time: satin black lacquer and chrome, minimalist lampshade. The top opening is partially covered by a circular metal plate with a chrome handle. The light is thus diffused only downwards and through the lampshade. As a side note, the five other models in the series were named Sophie, Isabelle, Corinne, Odile, and Brigitte, whose initials spell out the acronym SICOB. In perfect condition, with a recently replaced, very light gray linen lampshade, identical to the original. Two LED bulbs are included. Height 50cm, diameter 37cm.
