Jam cabinet, folk art furniture, oak, 19th century

Antique 19th century solid oak jam cabinet from the Auvergne folk art. We love its unique aesthetic, the thickness of the wood, and the elements carved directly from the block. The piece of furniture has a very interesting format, with significant storage capacity. Two drawers and a shelf inside the storage. The high shelf seems to have been changed, and is not original, it is old but not as antique as the piece of furniture. Traces of old wormholes on the sides and inside the piece of furniture, inherent to its great age, the whole has obviously been treated as a preventative measure. The round wooden handles were also added in the past and are not original but we have deliberately kept them. The left door is held by an interior metal stopper, the right door closes the whole thing with a wooden stopper. Please note this piece of furniture is very heavy.
