The talsint carpets also called ait bou ichaouen carpets are typical of the style of berber houses. They belong to the tribes of aït hamou ousaid, aït hadou belahsen, belboul, aït said oulahsen, aït ali ousaid and el bour, located in northeastern morocco. In this region, winters are very cold and snowy and throughout the year the climate is cold and humid, so talsint carpets are sometimes shaggy with an incredible quality of natural wool base and flat weaving edge. Today, it is rare and difficult to find a vintage piece of this enchanting tribe. The weaver has acquired and developed her skills and techniques over time and a lot of practice combining the intuition she had in the 70s that can never be compared from a newly manufactured carpet. Every little detail is unique and tells a story or meaning. It is very common to find the symbol of the "saw" in this kind of carpet. It is a symbol of metallurgists because berbers think that metal removes negative energy. Please note: consider that you will receive a handmade product and not an industrial work manufactured by a machine. There may be slight imperfections in shape or pattern, as this is a vintage item, but all of our carpets are restored and washed by professionals before being shipped.
