Renée prinz (anvers 1883 - namur 1973) Post-impressionist painter and watercolourist of ardennes landscapes, still lifes, flowers and portraits. Briefly practice sculpture. Born in antwerp to liégeois parents, including a father who was a senior officer, renée prinz was, through the family tribulations, a pupil of the academies of mons first, then antwerp and finally namur from 1905. She was a pupil of nicolas vanden eden and then desiree merny, by which she perhaps contracted the virus of landscape, even if she was also owed portraits and still lifes (the city possesses some). He was thus instilled in a certain tradition, for merny was rather circumspect with regard to modern art. She ed all her career in namur but her beginnings coincided with escapades in the valleys of ourthe and semois, as well as in the antwerp campine.
