Yngve Ekström was a well-known Swedish architect, designer, and educator, born in 1913 and died in 1988. He is best known for his furniture designs, especially for the Swedish furniture brand Swedese. His most famous works include the Lamino armchair and the Eklövs series. Ekström was known for his craftsmanship, simple design, and functional style—characteristics that define Scandinavian design philosophy. He was also active in architecture and influential as a teacher and scholar in design and architecture.
