Pair of Large Vintage Ceramic Candelabras by Sars Potteries Maine

Period: ca. 1950-1970 this is a pair of tall ceramic candelabras in a dark grey pewter colour with areas of emerald green glaze. The scrolled arms have three sockets at different heights. They stand on round scalloped feet. The undersides are marked 'poteries maine poteries sars depuis 1862'. Sars-poteries is the name of a town in northern france where many pottery factories had been active since the 18th century. Poterie maine was one of the few factories that remained active until the 1970s. Condition: good. No damage. Dimensions: 27.5 cm high, 24 cm wide, 14 cm diameter foot.
