Pair of large vintage candelabra in ceramic by Sars potteries Maine

Period: c. 1950-1970. This is a pair of large ceramic candelabra in a dark grey pewter colour with areas of emerald green glazing. The scroll arms have three branches at different heights. They rest on scalloped round bases. The undersides are marked 'poteries maine poteries sars since 1862'. Sars-poteries is the name of a town in northern France where many pottery factories were active since the 18th century. The poterie maine was one of the few factories that remained active until the 1970s. Condition: good. No damage. Dimensions: 27.5 cm high, 24 cm wide, base 14 cm in diameter.
