Lenjo Model 1202 table or desk lamp – Italy, 1970s
A warm orange desk lamp with a lot of 1970s character. This model 1202 was sourced in Sweden and made in Italy by Lenjo. It features a sweeping arm made from slotted metal segments that curves up from a round base like a spine. At the top is a curved hood with a row of fine slits, which cast thin lines of warm light across your desk or wall when the lamp is on. The lamp is in great condition, with only minor signs of wear and use appropriate for its age. It has been completely rewired with new cable, socket, and switch, so it is ready to use. It takes an E14 bulb. Lenjo is a lesser-known Italian lighting maker, and the lamp still carries its original paper label reading 'Lenjo Typ 1202'. Little is documented about the company, making this an interesting find for anyone who appreciates Italian design from the period. The bold orange lacquer, sculptural form, and graphic light slits are typical of the colourful, playful lighting that came out of Italy in the 1970s.
