Superb lamp made from a Canton vase from the late 19th century, carefully transformed to offer it a new function while respecting its original character. The finely decorated porcelain features richly coloured scenes of traditional life, framed by geometric friezes and highlighted with gilded handles and relief details. This antique base has been repurposed into a unique lamp, topped with a custom-made cylindrical lampshade in Liberty Louie’s Meadow fabric, featuring vibrant floral patterns that elegantly complement the painted decorations of the vase. The whole creates a singular piece, at the intersection of Asian art and contemporary decorative creation, bringing a strong presence. Origin: Canton, China. Period: Late 19th century.
