Beautiful craftsmanship of crystal at the end of the 19th century it was in the 18th century that bohemia distinguished itself in the history of crystal both by the creation of crystal and by the quality of its glassmakers. The name "crystal" is however older since it was used in venice at the end of the fifteenth century by venetian glassmakers to characterize particularly fine and transparent glass objects. It was not until the eighteenth century that bohemian crystal marked the quality of a hard and sparkling glass that supplanted venetian production on royal tables. It was at this time that bohemian glassmakers emigrated to northwestern europe, bringing with them their technique and know-how.
