Friso Kramer designer armchair

Office chair by Friso Kramer, an innovative icon of Dutch design. The chair was sanded and then painted in Fjord Blue. Designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, 1953. Although the Revolt chair was designed in 1953, production began in 1958. These chairs are rare as they were only used in a few schools in Holland. They come from the 1963 production year at TH Eindhoven. The frame is made of black lacquered metal. Friso Kramer was a functionalist; all of his pieces are well thought out and stunningly executed. Even though most of his designs were produced in large numbers, the preliminary process was very intensive and time-consuming.
