Black and gold Chinese storage furniture

Chinese-inspired storage furniture, probably dating from the second half of the 20th century, enhanced with superb floral and animal relief decorations as well as delicate golden fillets. Made of black lacquered wood, it stands out for its meticulous finishes, including traditional sculpted brass fittings and handles. Its compact dimensions and refined aesthetic make it a choice piece to add a touch of elegant exoticism to a living room or hallway. Condition: The structure is sound, stable, and perfectly functional: the doors open and close correctly, and the drawers slide easily. The top and black lacquer show some superficial micro-scratches from use, as well as slight variations in shine consistent with its history, visible in the photographs. These discreet signs of time preserve all the charm and authenticity of this characterful piece of furniture.
