A rare and multifunctional Danish secretaire with a desk in teak, beautifully merging form and function, was most likely by Poul Volther. And made in the 1960s. (There are certain construction features indicating this designer ) This piece exemplifies the understated elegance and superior craftsmanship of Danish modern design. Its warm teak grain, sculptural drawer pulls, and gently tapered legs give it a graceful presence, equally suited for use as a writing desk, bedroom vanity, or hallway statement piece. Dimenions: W 128 × D 83 × H 42 cm. The clean-lined design reveals a clever feature: a fold-down writing surface that unveils a built-in vanity mirror, perfect for discreet grooming or use as a compact dressing table. Thoughtful storage is provided by a combination of drawers and cubbies, making it as practical as it is beautiful. Additional dimensions: Pull-out tabletop extension: 62 cm. Glass shelf (right cabinet): 38 × 21 cm. The cabinet has been renovated thoroughly. It was taken apart and refinished. We have made sure that drawers and pull out mechanisms work smoothly. The wood has been cleaned and finished with layers of satin lacquer for extra protection and low luster mid century look. We leave minor signs of use that do not spoil the aesthetic and only confirm its originality. We try to bring it back to its best look, still considering it is 60 years old. The legs are detachable for shipping. Overall, secretaire is in perfect original condition.
