Charming pair of louis XVI style medallion armchairs dating from the 1950s. The base is typically louis xvi, fluted and tapered. The feet are connected to the seat by dice carved with flowers. The armrests are carved with pleasure. They are covered with vintage orange velvet. The wood is painted in ecru, beige and gray tones. Very decorative and very trendy. This pair of armchairs will adapt to any type of interior. France 20th century the louis XV style succeeds the regency style. It is also called rocaille or rococo style. The inventors of the louis XV style are true creators in the modern sense of the term, revolutionizing the way of thinking about furniture and interior decoration. In this respect, it can be compared to the gothic and art nouveau style insofar as they represent creation and technical progress in the use of materials. The pompadour, transition and louis XVI styles will succeed the louis XV style, which will remain an inspiration present in each of these three styles. Many louis XV style pieces can still be found today at the palace of versailles.
